Well done to 5th class and their teacher for completing the Dublin Marathon for kids programme. Great to see you all so active.

Active-At-Home-Activities

Try out the active at home activities during Active School’s Week from April 26th-30th. Our GAA coach has also set us a daily challenge above. Good luck with it!

Hope everyone has got their dancing feet ready for the whole school active dance challenge outdoors.

Ms. Ryan has lots of fun active activities in store for our whole school Active School’s week.

Lots of pupils in Scoil Mhuire took part in the Santa Dash run/jog for Christmas. Well done girls! Keep up the great work for Active schools.

This year Scoil Mhuire has introduced the Active School Walkway as part of its work for the Active School Flag. Ms. Ryan has various signs around the school yard pointing out the stops on the walkway. The teachers and children will use this walkway for trails, sporting activities and exercise breaks. One of the stops on the walkway brings you to our beautiful outdoor classroom adjacent to the school garden. We hope to use the walkway to encourage the children in Scoil Mhuire to be active.

Scoil Mhuire is working towards its first Active School Flag under the leadership of Ms. O’ Connor. Children engage in class busy breaks, active school homework, the Daily Mile, lunchtime skipping and lots of other sports activities in the school. Athletics, Hockey, G.A.A. and Tennis are also available in Scoil Mhuire. Even during school closure Scoil Mhuire manages to stay active. The school celebrated active home week from April 27th-May 3rd in lieu of Active School’s week this year. The children took part in a wonderful variety of activities at home with their families and recorded their daily activities for the week on the active home record grid.
