Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope this email finds you well.
I would like to inform parents that World Book Day will be celebrated in Scoil Mhuire Mount Sackville on Thursday, March 3rd. Pupils will be allowed to dress up as their favourite character from their favourite book on this day. They can then tell their class and teacher about their character and book. Pupils will engage in some lovely book related activities from the world book day website on this day. You may also wish to visit the world book day as parents to engage in some of the fun book related activities. The link is www.worldbookday.com/books. A €1.50 book token will be available for all pupils from the world book day website. As soon as this becomes available we will email it on to all parents. We continue to encourage and promote a love of reading amongst all our pupils in Scoil Mhuire Mount Sackville.
We will be celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge from 1st-17th March where we will encourage everyone to use cúpla focal with their children at home. At school we will be engaging in lots of fun activities for Seachtain na Gaeilge including a Lá Glas on the 16th March where the children can wear something green. We will have a céilí in the school hall on the 16th also with our Irish dancing teacher. More information on Seachtain na Gaeilge can be found on www.snag.ie.
Our iPad charging trolley has arrived and our new set of iPads are charged up and ready to go for after mid-term! Teachers are looking forward to using them with their pupils. I would like to thank again all the parents and the P.A. for their generous fundraising which allowed us purchase these devices.
I would like to also thank the 5th class pupils and their parents for bringing home their book boxes yesterday to facilitate a new floor covering being installed in their class room over the mid-term.
I would like to remind parents that next week the school is on mid-term break. We look forward to seeing all pupils back on Monday, 28th February.
I hope you and all your family continue to stay safe and well.
Kind Regards,
Ms. O’ Kelly
