Scoil Mhuire is extremely grateful for all the hard work and effort the Parent’s Association put into fundraising for the school each year. All fundraisers are very enjoyable and a wonderful social occasion for the whole school community where everyone works together for the good of the school. Last year we had the October Cake Sale and Coffee morning, Christmas Fair and St. Valentine’s Day raffle. We always like to donate a certain portion of all fundraisers to charity, especially the missionary charities associated with the wonderful work of the sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny throughout the world. The children always enjoy seeing where the money goes and the sisters are wonderful at keeping us aware of this.
In 2020/2021 some of our usual fundraising efforts could not go ahead due to Covid-19 restrictions. However, the school still managed to raise money for Goal on jersey day, sisters of Cluny on Christmas jumper day and the school tablet fund on children’s fun bingo day just before Christmas.
In 2021/2022 the P.A. raised money for GOAL on Jersey day and on world book day dress up through the Irish Red Cross for the people in Ukraine. On Christmas fun day the PA raised almost €2,300 which went towards the purchase of a new set of ipads for the school. Crazy hair day raised €290 for science resources.
